From Belgrade: Wine tasting tour in Fruška Gora
Here is what's in store for you
Begin your tour through the heart of northern Serbia in the scenic Fruška Gora National Park, once an island in the ancient Pannonian Sea. Today, this lush mountain is known as the Serbian capital of wine tourism, where vineyards stretch across sunlit slopes overlooking the Danube River. After a short drive through the national park, guests will visit the Velika Remeta Monastery, one of Fruška Gora’s oldest spiritual centers, to experience the peaceful atmosphere and learn about Serbia’s monastic wine-making tradition.
Continue to two family-run wineries in Sremski Karlovci and Banoštor, where you’ll taste around 9 premium wines, including local authentic sorts such as Grašac and Portugizer. Tasting is paired with small bites of traditional local food—homemade cheese, cured meats, and freshly baked bread—that perfectly complement the flavors of the wines.
The day concludes with a traditional lunch overlooking the vineyards, often accompanied by live local music and a beautiful Fruška Gora sunset. This experience combines authentic flavors, breathtaking landscapes, and centuries of wine-making heritage, offering a perfect blend of nature, history, and gastronomy. Fruška Gora’s charm lies in its harmony of culture and wine—an unforgettable taste of Serbia’s most famous wine region.
