Organic Wine & Olive Oil Tour with Tapas from Málaga
Here is what's in store for you
Your day exploring the Sierras de Málaga wine region begins in the city, where you'll meet your guide for the one-hour drive to the village of Mollina. The first stop is at Paco Campaña's organically certified estate. Here, you will walk among centuries-old olive trees, historic vineyards, and almond groves, learning how the high-altitude climate and organic farming methods shape the character of the local grapes and olives.
The tour continues at the Sociedad Cooperativa Virgen de la Oliva, a working cooperative. You'll go behind the scenes to see the olive mill, the bottling area, and the traditional cement tanks still used for winemaking. A highlight of the visit is tasting a wine drawn directly from one of these tanks, an exclusive sample before it's bottled.
The day concludes in the cooperative's tasting room. Your guide will lead you through a tasting of five wines and three extra virgin olive oils, paired with local specialties. You'll have an individual platter with eight different tapas, from fresh cheese with quince to rice with Iberian pork, alongside a traditional Spanish omelette to share. The tasting includes:
- Gadea PX Ecológico: An organic dry white wine from 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes (D.O. Sierras de Málaga).
- Gadea Tinto Roble 2024: A red wine from 100% Syrah, aged about six months in French oak (D.O. Sierras de Málaga).
- Apiane Espumoso: A sparkling wine made from Moscatel Morisco.
- Carpe Diem Dulce Natural: A natural sweet Moscatel wine (D.O. Málaga), Gold Medal winner in Lyon 2023.
- Carpe Diem Trasañejo: A sweet Pedro Ximénez with extended oxidative ageing (D.O. Málaga), containing a portion of a historic mother wine over 200 years old.
After the tasting, you will be driven back to the meeting point in Málaga.
