Grappa Experience at Villa de Varda

Here is what's in store for you

The experience includes an introduction to the history of the family, distillers in Trentino for 6 generations with over 170 years of experience in the art of distilling. They will then take us into the distillery, in operation or off depending on the time of year, where they will tell us about grappa, the traditional Trentino method and their particular system, the "de Varda" method which gives softness and cleanliness to the grappa discussing in detail the importance of grape skin selection, distillation, dilution, refrigeration and finally rest.

We will descend into the oldest room of Villa de Varda, where we will be able to admire the barrel room and go into the more romantic details of grappa: the ageing process, the types of wood used, the different ageing techniques and the exceptions for niche and representative products for Villa de Varda. The visit will continue in the "Cose di Casa" museum, which was created from a considerable amount of antique tools that the Dolzan family has accumulated over the centuries. This is a very valuable collection from an ethnographic and cultural point of view, with 1600 catalogued antique objects, agricultural, cellar and distillery tools, dating from the 1500s to the early 1900s, as well as 280 historical documents that testify to centuries of ethnographic life in the family.

We will then move on to the boutique where we will conclude the experience with a tasting of 5 grappas of your choice, paired with gastronomic products selected according to seasonality.
