We stayed at the Inn this past weekend for our honeymoon and had dinner at the restaurant our first night there. They treated us so special, and we enjoyed the staff, the wine, our meal and the Tara Inn so much! The chef even went out of her way to accommodate my dairy allergy. Thank you, thank you! We will be back!

My wife and I stayed at the house a couple of years ago and we enjoyed it immensely. In fact we wanted to setup a weekend for us and two or three other couple friends on Valentines day 2016. I called and spoke to a gentleman (I believe Patrick) in the spring of 2015. I informed him of my plans and asked to make a reservation. He informed me that they were hoping to get a wedding on that weekend and asked me to call back in late Sept. or early Oct. I was disappointed but agreed. Upon calling back at the end of September (just a few weeks ago) I talked with a woman who informed me that they do not reserve for the following year until after the January 1st. I explained my conversation with Patrick, she agreed to have him call me back so we could discuss it. A week and a half later after no call I once again contacted Tara Winery, the lady seemed to remember me and assured me that Patrick would call me back that very day. Now, two weeks later, no calls or emails I am reviewing your business. This is idiotic to ignore people who have already payed to stay at your facilities and is excited to spend even more time and money there. I do not know who is in charge there, but there needs to be some changes. I will DEFINITELY tell all my friends here in Dallas to stay away.

My wife and I had a wonderful time and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of wines and the tour itself. Lots of information and fun! Will be back!

This is the best kept secret in the area and very reasonably priced. It has the look and feel of a boutique complete with everything from their Pink Ranbows to my personal favoriate, Melbec. If you have questions, Bruce and Birgit (owners) can readily explain their process and even help you with a wine tasting to discover your favorite! The staff is very much intune with the Texas industry, and I am impressed that they use only Texas grapes. Their outside deck is a relaxing area to sit and chat with old and new friends alike. I wish some of the restaurants around here carried more Texas wines, but until they do, I want to learn more, and I know Sunset Winery is where I can do just that!

Wonderful ambiance inside and out with a delightful staff. The wines are exceptionally good, including their vine on the property (Claros). The member-only viewing area of Lake Travis is very nice.

Nice destination from Austin. Easy to get to. For a Texas winery they don't actually have a lot of Texas wines. Most wines are from Australia (Barossa) and then California (Napa). So, in other words, the wines are better than what you typically find in a Hill Country winery.
