Wine Tasting with Local Foods at Alemat in Ponzano Monferrato

Your experience takes place in Ponzano Monferrato, part of the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato vineyard landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you'll visit Alemat, a winery whose name comes from the Piedmontese dialect for "he's crazy!"—a nod to the family's dream of starting their own production.
The visit begins with a tour of the winery, leading to its most distinctive feature: the Infernot, an underground cellar carved by hand from the local rock 200 years ago. These cellars are a unique cultural treasure of the Monferrato wine region.
After the tour, you will settle into the tasting room for a guided tasting of five of the estate's wines. The flight includes one white, Piemonte Riesling DOC, and four reds: Piemonte Grignolino DOC, a red blend, Barbera Superiore d’Asti DOCG, and Monferace Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese DOC. The wines are served with a platter of traditional Monferrato products, including local cured meats like Muletta salami, cacciatorini, and cooked salami, alongside a variety of local cow’s and goat’s milk cheeses.
