Casa Boquera is a small family winery and hotel located at the beginning of the “El Serral” valley in Yecla (Murcia), in a beautiful, unspoiled natural enclave at the foot of two mediterranean mountain ranges; "El Carche" and "Serral". The area, known as 'La Boquera', with its calm surroundings, charming, mountainous skylines and stunning views is home to our 100% organic vineyards, excellent, certified organic wines and boutique hotel-winery built in 2016 by a Norwegian couple with a deep passion for winemaking and wines. The area is characterized by its sandy and calcareous soils and special microclimate, which makes it very suitable for growing and obtaining wines with a very unique character. The red varieties that our farm have are:
Monastrell (Mourvedre/Mataró), a native and protected designation of origin (DOP) variety of the area and the great protagonist of our wines.
Petit Verdot, Syrah and Garnacha Tintorera (Grenache).

Our winery, built in the spring of 2016, is small but equipped with the most respectful technology towards wine and adapted to the winemaking tradition of the area. It is built under the premise of always taking care of the wine above anything else. Our boutique-hotel, Casa Boquera, is situated in the middle of our vineyards and winery. The complex surrounds a private garden with swimming pool and beautiful views over the vineyard and valley. With only 11 rooms, we can offer a personal and peaceful retreat where you can enjoy in addition to our wines, the magical environment and the silence that surrounds us: an experience of disconnection and total relaxation. An oasis of peace in the middle of the countryside!

Our wines are 100% certified organic, with the personality of the area where mineral tones stand out due to our typical terroir of the area. Wines with medium-high layers of color where the typical ruby ​​red of Monastrell dominates. In addition to Monastrell (Mourvedre/Mataró) a native and protected designation of origin (DOP) variety of the area and the great protagonist of our wines, we have three more red grape varieties: Petit Verdot, Syrah and Garnacha Tintorera (Grenache). Of white varieties we have Chardonnay, Moscatel and Sauvignon Blanc, with a very small annual production of only a thousand bottles, which can be tasted and enjoyed in our hotel during visits.

 

The elaboration of our wines is in great percentage an artisan process, from the most personal care of our organic vineyard, to the winemaking process itself done with our best care. The pruning in winter, the green pruning in spring, the harvesting of our grapes in small baskets by hand, selecting just the ripest and healthiest fruits, without exception all serve our mission of obtaining the best quality grapes for a delicious reward: our full-bodied wines with character, that will last not only on the palate but also in the memory.

White Boquera

Our most different wine, a very special blend of Moscatel, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes, matured in American oak barrels to enhance the fruity, deep aromas of the wine.

 

Balance 

Our young star, it is a coupage of the Garnacha tintorera and Monastrell varieties which results in a wine with an intense cherry red colour, clean and bright with very marked red tones.

 

Harmony

A favorite of many, our semicrianza (semi-aged) is made with the Syrah and Monastrell varieties and is aged in French oak barrels for about 3 months.
It has a ruby red colour, clean and bright with red tones. In the mouth it is a wine with a lot of volume. The tannins have a very sweet structure due to the aging in bottle and barrel.

 

Elegance

Our Top Quality wine.
To make this wine we use Petit Verdot and Monastrell with a minimum aging in French oak barrels of 6 months. In the nose it presents balsamic aromas very typical of Petit Verdot as well as citrus aromas. It also has lovely, spicy hues typical of the aging in French oak barrels. In the mouth it is a very velvety wine.

 

Special Edition Petit Verdot 

Our most exquisite and special wine, a 100% Petit Verdot Reserva from 2017 with all the aromas conserved of an exceptional harvest in just five thousand bottles made - a unique, and limited edition.
