Cantina e Vini

Domaine St Laurent de Saurs is a small family winery, created in 1999. When buying this farm in 1993, the family made the bold choice to vinify themselves, Laurent was then 17 years old, and he began to develop its wines. During the first 6 years, the wines were sold directly to the trade. Laurent was able to train, learn, and try out in this way.

In 1999, Laurent finally became a young Tarn winemaker, he was then 23 years old and decided to create the name of the Domaine: the “Domaine St Laurent de Saurs” was born. His first bottled wines arrived the same year, a red wine from the country and a dry white wine from the country. Gradually the estate is modernized with the old equipment replaced, and a new cellar built. Many projects are still planned, but all in its time. Nowadays, Domaine St Laurent de Saurs produces nearly 20 different cuvées. A quarter of the estate's wines are intended for sale in bottles.

Domaine St Laurent de Saurs is located in the town of Lisle-sur-Tarn in a place called Saurs. Our vineyard, exposed at the bottom of the slopes on the right bank, has a large number of typical grape varieties: Braucol, Duras, Prunelard, Syrah and Gamay for the reds. Muscadelle, Loin de l’œil and Mauzac for the whites. This variety allows the production of typical Gaillac wines. The winery also grows international grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The desire to innovate leads to trials, and today Domaine St Laurent de Saurs also market Marselan. A new cuvée is planned with another grape variety Mourvedre. Better known Prunelard will arrive also in mono-varietal. The winery's latest novelty is the plantation of an Alsatian grape variety, Riesling.
