Planeta Buonivini
La Cantina
Planeta Buonivini is located near Noto, in southeastern Sicily, and represents the third stage of the Planeta family’s journey across the island. Established in 1998 in the district historically known as “Buonivini” (“good wines”), the estate was created with the goal of rediscovering and enhancing the winemaking potential of this area, traditionally linked to Nero d’Avola.
Set among gentle hills sloping toward the sea, the estate is deeply integrated into the surrounding landscape of vineyards, almond groves, and Mediterranean vegetation. From the beginning, the project has been guided by a strong commitment to sustainability and minimal environmental impact, exemplified by the “Cantina Invisibile” (Invisible Winery) and the restoration of historic rural structures. The combination of limestone soils, sea breezes, and a unique microclimate creates ideal conditions for viticulture in this part of Sicily.
I Vini
The wines of Planeta Buonivini are a pure expression of southeastern Sicily, with a strong focus on native varieties. Nero d’Avola is the flagship grape, cultivated here to highlight its elegance, structure, and deep connection to the territory. Alongside it, Moscato finds excellent conditions, contributing aromatic and fresh expressions.
The terroir—characterized by white limestone soils, coastal influences, and Mediterranean biodiversity—gives rise to wines with balance, complexity, and a distinctive identity. Planeta’s approach combines respect for tradition with innovation, aiming to restore and redefine the reputation of this historic wine-growing area through wines that are both authentic and contemporary.
