Riofavara is a family-run winery in the Val di Noto area (south-eastern Sicily) in the heart of the region of origin and production of the Nero d'Avola vine. Small in size (16 total hectares) Riofavara is a family-run company, part of a project handed down from father to son. Our winery, in fact, dates back to 1920 and became a wine producing company in 1994 under the guidance of Massimo who took the reins. After years of study and hard experience and values ​​such as passion and dedication, Massimo Padova succeeds in what since his origins has been his intent ie the production of "territorial" wines, expression of the warm ventilated climate and the limestone soil that characterizes this area further south of southern Sicily between Syracuse and Ragusa.

Molti dei nostri vini portano il nome del territorio perché lo esprimono sotto ogni punto di vista. Grazie all’utilizzo di alcune delle più recenti tecniche di vinificazione nel rispetto delle tradizioni locali e dell'ambiente, abbiamo adottato i principi dell'agricoltura biologica e biodinamica facendo ogni possibile passo per lavorare nel modo più naturale possibile sia in vigna che in cantina nel rispetto delle tradizioni locali e dell'ambiente. A occuparsi delle visite in cantina la maggior parte delle volte sono Margherita e Clementina Padova, mamma e figlia. Parlano 4 lingue e sono sempre pronte a dispensare informazioni sui vini insieme a un sorriso.
