Here is what's in store for you
Your journey begins with a comfortable pick-up from your hotel in Paris, followed by a scenic two-hour drive through the French countryside. Along the way, there’s the possibility of a short stop at a rest area to stretch and refresh before the adventure continues.
The first highlight of the day is a visit to the majestic Château de Chambord. As your guide walks you through its fascinating history and remarkable architecture, you'll learn how this monumental estate was commissioned by Francis I and constructed between 1519 and 1547. Known for its iconic French Renaissance style, the castle boasts 440 rooms, 282 fireplaces, and 84 staircases—including the famous double-spiral staircase believed to have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci himself.
Next, discover the Château Royal d'Amboise, a residence that once echoed with the lives of French kings and is affectionately known as the "lullaby of Kings." This chateau, where Leonardo da Vinci is laid to rest, beautifully reflects the transition from Gothic to Renaissance architecture. Using the interactive Histopad, you’ll be able to travel back in time and explore the castle's rich past through augmented reality.
In the heart of Amboise, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy lunch at one of the town’s many charming restaurants or cafés. Your guide will be happy to offer recommendations or make a reservation at a quality local spot to suit your preferences.
The journey continues with a delightful wine tasting at Plou et Fils, a family-owned winery established in 1508. You’ll sample at least seven distinct wines while learning about the long-standing traditions and techniques of Loire Valley winemaking. On request, a visit to their historic wine cave can also be arranged, adding depth to this flavorful experience.
Later in the afternoon, explore the enchanting Château de Chenonceau, often referred to as "the ladies' castle." Spanning the River Cher, this stunning château is not only renowned for its beauty but also for the influential women who shaped its history and design. Its graceful architecture and riverside setting make it one of the most beloved and photographed castles in the region.
As the day winds down, you’ll return to Paris, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel. With memories of majestic castles, captivating stories, and exceptional wines, your Loire Valley experience will be one to treasure—and perhaps the start of your love affair with the region.
