Make Your Own Wine & Tasting at Bodegas Amezola de la Mora in Rioja
Here is what's in store for you
Your visit to Bodegas Amézola de la Mora, one of the oldest wineries in D.O.Ca. Rioja, begins with a welcome from one of the owners, María or Cristina Amézola. They will guide you on an exclusive tour through the vineyards, the winery, and into the underground cellar, or 'calado'. This stone cellar is one of the largest and best-preserved in the region, where the estate's wines age quietly in barrels.
After the tour, you'll move to the indoor tasting room. Its 20-meter window wall and covered terrace offer a direct view of the vineyards. Here, you will taste two of the estate's red wines: the Viña Amézola Crianza, a blend of Tempranillo, Mazuelo, and Graciano aged for 16 months, and the Señorío de Amézola Reserva, made from Tempranillo and Graciano and aged for 35 months in French and American oak.
The experience then becomes hands-on. María or Cristina will teach you the art of blending, and you will create your own personal 'coupage'. Your creation will be bottled and finished with your own custom label to take home as a unique memory of your day as a Rioja winemaker. Children are welcome and can enjoy their own tasting of non-alcoholic grape musts.
