Looking for the ultimate Tuscan natural wine experience? Atavica is a 17-hectare estate nestled in the picturesque hills of Maremma. Known for its breathtaking landscapes and long history of wine production, this is a place with rich agricultural and cultural heritage dating back to the Etruscans. We practice organic agriculture, producing low-intervention wines from traditional local grapes like Sangiovese an Vermentino, and rare, ancient grape varieties like Pugnitello and Foglia Tonda. Our award-winning organic olive oils are also a treat, especially if you're visiting in the late autumn, just after the October harvest.
Your journey begins with a welcoming glass of wine as you stroll among our vines and olive trees (we like to call it "vine bathing"), soaking in the natural beauty of the land and surrounding hills. Following the vineyard walk, you'll tour our cantina, where you'll learn about our unique fermentation processes and the history behind the ancient grapes we cultivate.
Then you'll have a seat around the tasting table in the cantina to sip on four of our organic wines, perfectly paired with a plate of local goodies like cheese, cured meats, baked goods, and our exquisite olive oils (when available). We gladly cater to all dietary preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free—just let us know!
