Your private, full-day tour into the Vinho Verde region begins with a pickup in Porto, where you'll meet your guide for the day. The itinerary is built around discovering two of the area's key white grape varieties, Avesso and Azal. The first part of the journey takes you to Amarante, a historic town on the Tâmega River.
You'll have time to explore its old streets and see landmarks like the Church of São Gonçalo and its distinctive bridge. From there, you'll head to the first of two wineries. Here the focus will be on the Avesso grape, known for its structure and aromatic character.
A guided tasting will introduce you to its profile. The second winery visit is dedicated to the Azal grape, which produces wines with a distinct, lively acidity. Across both visits, you will taste a total of seven wines, with your guide explaining the production methods and characteristics of each. The day also includes a stop in Valongo to taste the town's traditional biscuits, a part of the local gastronomic heritage. At the end of the tour, your guide will drive you back to Porto.
