Your experience begins at Villa Pesanella, the 19th-century heart of the Castello Monterinaldi estate. Here, you'll be welcomed by the estate's chef and hospitality team for a lunch focused on Tuscan tradition.
The 3-course menu changes with the seasons to reflect the estate's organic philosophy. A typical meal might start with a Tuscan appetizer of local cold cuts like prosciutto and salami, cheeses such as Pecorino, and bruschetta. This is followed by a main course of fresh egg tagliatelle with a classic beef ragù, and concludes with a dessert like an extra virgin olive oil and orange cake.
Each course is paired with a guided tasting of three of Castello Monterinaldi's organic wines. You will explore the character of the territory through glasses of IGT Sangiovese or Merlot, Chianti Classico DOCG, and Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG, with the final selection depending on the season and availability. Lunch is served in one of the villa's historic rooms, offering a refined setting to understand Chianti's winemaking heritage.
For children, the kitchen will prepare a special menu, served with the estate's own organic grape juice instead of wine. If you select the tour option, you can also visit the historic cellars before your meal to learn about the winemaking process from vineyard to bottle.

An unexpected and pleasant experience
We didn't know of it and followed our instinct, but in the end everything was above our expectations.
Their Chianti Classico is excellent in both its aromas and taste, the location is magnificent, the lunch was excellent, and the staff is kind and welcoming.

Great food, venue, service and wines
Tip: the winery is at the bottom of the valley, just off the main road… not the Castello Monterinaldi which is at the top of the ridge, 1km away… we went to the wrong place first, but at least had a lovely view….
