Tasting of Great Italian Wines with Food Pairings in Central Lucca

Your tasting takes place at Tomkat, a wine bar with a kitchen in Lucca's historic center, known for its cellar of over 350 labels. An experienced member of the Tomkat team will welcome you and guide you through the session.

The experience is an approachable introduction to Italian wine, adapting to your level of knowledge. You will explore the fundamentals of tasting or discuss appellations and vintages in depth with your host. You will taste five wines selected to represent Italy's diverse regions, grape varieties, and styles, with a special focus on Tuscany and Piedmont. You'll taste celebrated Italian classics as well as labels from small artisanal producers that are rarely found outside their territories.

The wines are served with a pairing of artisanal Italian products. Depending on seasonality, this includes Tuscan cured meats like prosciutto and finocchiona, various ages of Tuscan pecorino cheese, and bread, focaccia, or small dishes from the kitchen.

The tasting is held in an elegant but informal setting, with a limited number of participants to ensure a relaxed pace.
