Fontefico invites you to experience the authentic flavors of Abruzzo through a traditional hands-on cooking class, hosted at their family-run winery in Vasto. This immersive culinary adventure begins with a guided tour of Fontefico’s vineyards and winery, where you’ll learn about their philosophy of natural winemaking and the unique terroir of the Abruzzo coast.
After the tour, roll up your sleeves and dive into the kitchen. Under expert guidance, you’ll prepare two classic Abruzzese recipes — typically a starter or main course and a pasta dish. Depending on the season and availability, you might craft dishes such as pallotte cace e ove (cheese and egg balls), stuffed eggplants, or fresh handmade pastas like sagne appezzate, cavatelli, or the region’s iconic pasta alla chitarra.
Once the cooking is done, sit down and enjoy a three-course lunch followed by dessert, all paired with three of Fontefico’s estate wines: “La Canaglia” Pecorino d'Abruzzo Superiore, “Fossimatto” Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Superiore, and “Cocca di Casa” Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. This is a genuine taste of Abruzzo, brought to life through the food, wine, and hospitality of Fontefico.
