Here is what's in store for you
Join us on a charming walk through the narrow streets of Monforte d'Alba, in the heart of the Langa del Barolo. Our adventure begins at our office, situated within the historic town hall, inviting you to join us on this delightful exploration.
Our first steps will lead us to the captivating district known as "Il Borghetto," a modern gem within Monforte. Here, we'll encounter the grandeur of the Madonna della Neve church, an architectural marvel that exudes a sense of awe and reverence. Continuing our stroll, we'll find ourselves in the bustling Umberto I Square, the vibrant epicenter of social and commercial life, brimming with energy and charm.
If there are no private events, we'll venture into the Martina Museum, dedicated to the esteemed Colonel of the Savoy army. The Colonel's generosity shines through as he bestowed his home upon Monforte municipality, enabling it to benefit the community. From the palace's balcony, we'll be able to admire a breathtaking view, unveiling the enchanting allure of the ancient town.
From here, we shall embark on a captivating ascent, unveiling the secrets of medieval Monforte. Imagination will transport us back in time, witnessing events within the Cathar community, a group once accused of heresy nearly a millennium ago. Crossing the iconic "la saracca," we'll arrive at the square which once housed the ancient church, where today stands the Oratory of St. Augustine and the majestic Torre Dell'Orologio. This elevated locale offers a mesmerizing view, encompassing the scenic viewpoint and the renowned Horszowski amphitheater, the stage for the illustrious Monfortinjazz music festival, held during July and August.
Our final stop beckons us to capture an unforgettable moment at the Giant Bench #12. And what better way to conclude this remarkable experience than indulging in a well-deserved tasting at a local wine shop? Three exquisite wines, meticulously crafted in the heart of Monforte, await us, promising a sensory adventure that encapsulates the essence of this charming destination.
Join us, and let Monforte d'Alba weave its spell as we embark on a captivating walk that immerses you in the rich history, architectural marvels, and tantalizing flavors of this remarkable corner of the world.
