Private Wine Tasting with Local Products at Cantina Gentili in Caprino Veronese
Here is what's in store for you
Your tasting at Cantina Gentili begins with a personal welcome from Emanuela, or sometimes from the owners Elisa or Enrico Gentili themselves. The family has been running the estate since 1978, focusing on tradition and sustainable agriculture in the hills of Caprino Veronese.
The experience starts underground with a walk through the cellar, cut directly into the hillside, where you will see the terracotta amphorae used for aging one of their red wines. From there, you will be seated for the tasting under the portico of a courtyard that dates to the 1500s.
You will taste three wines, each explained one at a time. The lineup includes a Chiaretto di Bardolino DOC, the estate's signature dry rosé; a Souvignier Gris IGT, a white from a disease-resistant PIWI grape that reflects their low-intervention approach; and a Bardolino Montebaldo "San Verolo" DOC, a red aged in terracotta, which gives the wine a distinctively soft profile.
The wines are served with a board of local products: the estate's own artisanal breadsticks, bread, and olive oil, alongside local cheeses like Caciotta del Monte Baldo and Primo Sale, paired with millefiori honey and two fruit jams from nearby producers.
After the tasting, you have the option to take a 40-minute walk on a marked path through the vineyards, weather permitting.
