The Red Experience at Umberto Cesari Winery offers an immersive journey into the world of Sangiovese, one of Italy’s most emblematic red grape varieties. The experience begins with a visit to the aging cellar, where the evolution of the wines is revealed in a setting that highlights the winery’s commitment to tradition and innovation.
Guided by a knowledgeable sommelier, you will taste four distinct interpretations of Sangiovese – Costa di Rose, Ca' Grande, Umberto, and Tauleto – each reflecting a unique style, structure, and expression of the terroir.
To elevate the tasting, each wine is thoughtfully paired with refined gastronomic specialties selected from some of the finest local artisans, true ambassadors of the region’s culinary excellence. Delicacies include a Robiola quenelle with Cantabrian anchovies, fresh raspberries, and a mini savory croissant; a dehydrated plum roulade wrapped in La Magretta bacon served with puff pastry breadsticks; a duo of Pecorino cheeses, Gran Cru and Fossa, accompanied by Amarena Fabbri cherries in syrup, coffee powder, white bread, and Bombon Amarena Fabbri; and finally, a warm crouton with Lardo di Patanegra, blackberries, and fresh blueberries.
