Giano dell'Umbria, a medieval village in the "green heart" of Italy, overlooks a silver landscape of olive trees, where people have long lived in harmony with nature. Here, the Del Sero family has been cultivating olive trees and producing extra virgin olive oil for generations, using the traditional method of first cold pressing with granite millstones and hydraulic presses. Their recently built oil mill blends into the landscape, offering visitors the chance to follow the entire production process through a protected pathway and to discover the family’s history and traditions.
The visit to Agricola Capro includes a guided tour in English or French, with a detailed explanation of how olive oil is made and what ensures its high quality. Afterwards, guests enjoy a premium tasting of wood-fired bruschetta with different toppings, a charcuterie and cheese board with local specialties, and a glass of red wine.
Surrounded by over 2,000 square meters of olive groves and green spaces, the Frantoio is easily accessible from Rome, Florence, and Perugia, and makes an ideal stop to discover not only the world of olive oil but also nearby gems such as Morcicchia Castle and San Felice Abbey.
