Private Natural Wine and EVO Oil Tasting at Terrante in San Miniato
Here is what's in store for you
Your private experience begins at Terrante's Bottega, near San Miniato in the heart of Tuscany. You'll be welcomed personally by Francesco De Filippis, the winemaker, and Barbara, who will be your guides.
They will introduce you to the estate's history and its philosophy of ethical, regenerative agriculture. The tour starts with a walk through the vineyards, where you'll learn about the local terroir and the biodynamic farming practices that define Terrante's approach. From there, you'll visit the winery to see how these principles are applied to every stage of production.
The experience concludes back in the Bottega with a guided tasting of four of the estate's natural wines:
- Angea: A tense, mineral white of Trebbiano and Malvasia, with notes of warm stone and salty sea wind.
- Matilde: A fresh, lively Sangiovese rosé made by direct pressing with minimal cellar intervention.
- Sincero: A Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon blend, spontaneously fermented, with intense red fruit and soft tannins.
- OR: A biodynamic blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon aged a year in tonneaux, with notes of cherry, black pepper and liquorice.
The tasting is accompanied by a sampling of Terrante's extra virgin olive oil and a platter of local products, including pecorino from the Pisan hills, finocchiona, salami, and bruschette. Vegetarian and vegan options are available on request.
