A most excellent wine/ port tasting experience !

The vineyard looked most beautiful with not only endless vine spear over the valley. The local fruit trees looked wonderful as this is a family run vineyard over many years. The place we enjoyed our 6 wine/ port tasting was wide and open with great view!
The wines and ports we tasted were excellent and the portion generous as well as the plentiful nibbles accompanied with every and each wine or port. They can’t youwere both thoughtful , tasty and generous in portion. We had a most excellent time and would visit when we return in the area next !!

Fantastic relaxed winery hospitality

Big thanks to the folks at Quinta da Portela who were both friendly and knowledgeable. We were walked through the onsite museum and learned about the multi-generation history of this winery; interesting to see artifacts of the wine business and how equipment has changed across the decades. The great pleasure of our visit was a wonderfully relaxed and leisurely seated tour of their sparkling, still and fortified wines as well as their olive oil. These were deftly accompanied by delicious local food products both savoury and sweet on their hilltop outdoor patio. Highly recommended!
