Wachau Wine Tasting with Apricot Specialties at Marille & Wein in Melk

Your experience begins at Marille & Wein, located directly on the historic Rathausplatz in the center of Melk. Here, a sommelier will welcome you and guide you through the world of Wachau wines.
The tasting features at least five selected wines from the region, giving you a clear introduction to local varieties like Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, and quality levels such as Federspiel and Smaragd. Your host will share insights about the wines, the region's unique terroir, and the specifics of Wachau viticulture. To complement the wines, you will also have the chance to taste a range of the area's other famous product: the Wachau apricot. The tasting includes samples of apricot liqueur, brandy, jam, and juice.
This hour-long tasting takes place in the venue's tasting room or on the terrace overlooking the town square, offering a direct insight into the region's culture of wine and local produce.

Where we are and how to reach us
The tasting is held at Marille & Wein on Rathausplatz, the main town square in the pedestrianized center of Melk's old town. The town hall (Rathaus) serves as a good landmark.
If arriving by public transport, Melk's train station is a short walk through the old town to the square; bus connections are also available at the station. For those arriving by car, there are several paid parking zones in the old town and larger car parks just outside the center, from which Rathausplatz is easily reachable on foot.
Please note that seating is at high tables with bar stools.
