Wine architectures tour: the two souls of Montepulciano
Here is what's in store for you
If in the historic center of Montepulciano, the basements of Renaissance palaces guard the striking monumental cellars, beyond the ancient walls, in the surrounding countryside, it is design and innovation that characterize some wineries.
This tour will take you on a discovery of the two architectural souls of Montepulciano: on the one hand, the historic wineries, evidence of a millenary tradition, and on the other hand, the contemporary designer wineries, admirable examples of modern wine-related architecture.
You will first be taken to a modern winery located in the open countryside, where you will be able to observe the vineyards and learn about the production processes of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG.
After tasting the wines of the first winery, you will return within the walls of the historic center to visit an underground winery. Here you will taste delicacies typical of the area, such as Tuscan salami, Pecorino di Pienza, and bruschetta, paired with the wines of the winery.
