Natural Wine Tasting & Cellar Tour at Tenuta Cà Sciampagne in Montefeltro
Here is what's in store for you
Discover Tenuta Cà Sciampagne, a natural winery nestled in the rolling hills of Montefeltro, just outside Urbino. Here, every visit is built around genuine hospitality, with tastings that change throughout the year according to the wines available and the rhythm of the cellar.
Your experience begins with a guided visit to the winery, where you'll learn about the estate's approach to natural winemaking. Every wine is made the same honest way, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts only, no fining, no filtration and no added sulfites, so a little natural sediment in the glass is part of the character, not a flaw. Because the winery works this way, some grapes are intentionally bottled as Marche IGT rather than DOC wines. This choice gives the winemakers greater freedom to express the vintage and the vineyard instead of following stricter production rules.
The tasting includes 4 wines, selected from the bottles currently open in the cellar. Depending on the season and the day, you may taste whites, ancestral sparkling wines, orange wines, rosé, reds or sweet passito wines — which is exactly why no two visits are ever quite the same.
To give you a sense of what might end up in your glass:
Spavengol, an ancestral white from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, playful and lightly effervescent, with white-fleshed fruit and passion fruit dancing between acidity and sweetness (its name recalls a scarecrow, a childhood symbol of carefree joy).
Simandro, a delicate Biancame named after the winemaker's two sons, with elderflower, hawthorn and a whisper of green almond.
Raicanuda, an orange Passerina macerated on the skins for 14 days following the lunar cycle, offering apricot, dried fruit and a savoury, yeasty depth.
Revoluscion, the first ancestral Biancame ever made in the province, with smoky, almond and liquorice notes.
Amane, an aromatic natural rosé of Sangiovese and Sauvignon Blanc, where small red fruits meet velvety rose petals. The exact line-up shifts with the cellar, but these give you the spirit of the estate.
The wines are accompanied by a light local pairing featuring crescia sfogliata, a traditional flatbread from the Marche region. Depending on availability, it may be replaced with piadina sfogliata or crostolo. Alternatively, guests may enjoy a toasted crostino topped with the estate's own extra virgin olive oil.
Tastings can take place in different areas of the property, from the Vinsantaia, surrounded by barrels and the aromas of aging passito wines, to the tasting room or the outdoor garden during the warmer months.
