Wine Tasting & Winery Tour at Poggio Dell'Aquila
Here is what's in store for you
As soon as you arrive at Poggio dell'Aquila, Giulia – the owner's daughter and fourth-generation member of the family – will welcome you with a smile and guide you on an authentic experience discovering the world of Brunello.
The visit begins with an outdoor tour, where you'll find yourself faced with an enchanting panorama of vineyards and woods. It's the perfect place to take photos and be captivated by the history and traditions that have animated the winery for decades. You'll walk among the vines, observe them up close, and discover their life cycle, following step by step what makes this land so special.
Next, you'll enter the cellar, the beating heart of the winery: a space enveloped in the warm scent of Slavonian wood barrels. Here, you'll learn the secrets of aging and the processes that transform grapes into wine, immersing yourself in the methods passed down from generation to generation and still preserved at Poggio dell'Aquila.
The tour concludes in the tasting room, an intimate and welcoming space where Giulia will guide you through a tasting of the estate's wines, including the Brunello di Montalcino. You'll discover how each glass reveals different nuances of aroma, flavor, and structure, accompanied by simple breadsticks that reveal the wine's authentic character.
At the end of the tour, you can purchase the bottles that most captivated you... If you can choose!
