Founded in 1973 by Giovanni Fratus, Riccafana Winery is situated on the southern slopes of Monte Orfano in Franciacorta. The estate, now under the leadership of Giovanni's son Riccardo Fratus, has been a pioneer in organic viticulture since 2006. The farmhouse "Cascina Carretto" is a reality working for a long time in the region of Franciacorta: indeed the Lamberti family has undertaken more than twenty years in the agritourism activity, which began in a farmhouse dating from 1600, carefully restored and renovated, surrounded by more than 20 hectares of land used for farming. On the upper floors of the farmhouse were also made small apartments, used for overnight stays or holiday periods, so you can enjoy your holiday in the green of the nature. Over the years, the original farmhouse, in which they were made six rooms of different size, it is then placed side by side, a new structure designed to accommodate banquets and ceremonies, in front of an artificial lake for sport fishing

Ours is a small estate in the Franciacorta district, in one of Italy's finest wine-growing areas. Enrico Gatti bought his first piece of land in 1975 and planted a vineyard of red grapes, from which he started making small quantities of wine. In 1984, Enrico's passion for wine-making became a family affair; his children, Lorenzo and Paola, together with her husband, Enzo, joined the business. The new drive they brought to the enterprise made it possible to achieve the dream of producing a sparkling wine, and the first Franciacorta was made in the 1986 vintage. The estate gradually grew and expanded, as they purchased new land, planted new vineyards and expanded the cellar itself. Combining their individual sensibilities and the wine-making experience they had acquired, Lorenzo and Enzo evolved a shared vision of wine and drew up a clear business ethic, based on reinforcing the traditional characteristics of the local wines and promoting the Franciacorta district.

The winery is a medium-small winery that devotes its work to exalting the terroir of Franciacorta. The cultivation of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir began in 1980 when the family decided to dedicate itself to the world of wine and thus abandon the mixed farming that had begun in the early 1900s. The Vigna Dorata brand was born in 1995 when the first bottle of the company's wine was officially produced with re-fermentation in the bottle.
