The story of Vini Barani began in the early 1950s when Marino and Gina Barani purchased land near the Vigoleno castle. Originally a nursery, where Marino cultivated and sold prized native vine cuttings, the venture gradually shifted to winemaking due to the exceptional quality of the land. Today, the winery is managed by Stefano Barani, Marino’s grandson, who preserves the family tradition. The vineyards, covering four hectares, produce DOC varieties, and the winery began transitioning to organic production in 2022.  

Illica Vini draws inspiration from both the natural beauty of its surroundings and the cultural legacy of Luigi Illica, a renowned playwright and librettist from the region. Luigi Illica, who worked with great composers like Giacomo Puccini and Umberto Giordano, embodies the spirit of innovation and creativity that also defines the winery.
