About Winery and Wines
My name's Francesco and I like to call myself a kind of a super hero of Valtellina, like spiderman or something.... HERO: because if Valtellina viticulture is called heroic, the workers are heroes; SUPER: in order to always motivate me. "With great power comes great responsibility" and we farmers are given the task of protecting, safeguarding and teaching how to live our territory." I like to define my home, now my agriturismo, as a seaport. I have memories from my childhood of many friends and friends of friends, who would stop by the house for a glass of wine, dinner or even just coffee. I have a family full of imagination, personality, ingenuity, warmth and love: they taught me the importance of happiness and hospitality. With them I feel stimulated every day to grow and strive to pursue my dream. A set of different but complementary figures that create an extraordinary mix of warmth and rare spontaneity.
Azienda Agricola Folini di Francesco Folini is located in Chiuro, in Via Stazione 2, and it mainly deals with viticulture and wine making. There are 9 hectares of vineyard, divided in 40 plots distributed in the territory of Chiuro, Teglio, Ponte, Tresivio, Poggiridenti and Sondrio. At the winery there is also the cellar, built in 2008: it is here that take place the first phases of vinification after harvesting, the processing of wine with the first decanting, aging and bottling
