About Winery and Wines

The Peroni Farm was founded in 1875 thanks to Bortolo Peroni, great-great-grandfather of current owner Marco Peroni. After a renovation in 1890, the family moved in permanently.

Today Marco Peroni and his son Paolo run the company, or the 5th and 6th generations. The winery aims to combine tradition with modern production techniques. In recent years the vineyards have been rebuilt, eliminating the old pergolas and replacing them with espalier forms of cultivation.

The farm has a hilly area of 4.5 ha and 10 ha on the plains. The latter are cultivated with herbaceous crops such as stable meadows and cereals, regarding the high fertility of the land in that area.

The main vineyard of 2 ha is located behind the farm and enclosed on the sides by two different rivo (rivoli), composed mainly of locust, oak and elm trees. The peculiarity of this planting is its constitution, in fact the support poles are made from the locust trees in the rivulet. Part of these poles were recovered from the arbors present in the past for this reason some of them can be up to a hundred years old. The consequences of this technique are clearly visible: presence of irregular poles, increased biodiversity and greater capacity to host pollinator insects for our vineyard.

For business reasons this vineyard is divided, also visually, into three plots or "Cru":

Monte Albini (Mut de Albì): named this way because at the time of the winery's purchase this plot was owned by the Albini family.

Monte lungo (Mut lonc): this is the largest plot, but actually the longest, and for this reason it acquires its name.

Monte ritto (Mut en pè): its name becomes from the fact that the arrangement of the rows is opposite to all the others, thus from north to south, due to a particular lay of the land.

MONTERITTO:

MONTENETTO DI BRESCIA IGT TREBBIANO100% Turbiana

This wine is named after one of our "Cru" present in the vineyard north of the winery. So called because this plot is planted from north to south, with a different layout than the rest, which is why we call it "Mut en pè" or standing mount

Straw yellow color with evident greenish tones. The nose reveals fine aromas, with distinct floral notes of lily of the valley and elderflower and delicate fruity notes of apple and pear. The palate reveals good acidic shoulder, structured and elegant.

Obtained by de-stemming-crushing, light pressing with a vertical press, fermenting only the first-choice of grape most. After fermentation it rests 8-9 months in concrete barrels before being bottled.

IMBARAZZATO:

ROSE WINE

95% Sangiovese, 5% Syrah

Charles Darwin said that man blushes when he is embarrassed, defining blushing as the most peculiar and also the most human of all emotional expressions. Embarrassment arises in front of something or someone important, tinging our face with a colour similar to the contents of your glass

Intense, bright pink colour. The bouquet is delicate with bright notes of strawberry jam. The palate appears fresh, persistent and fragrant.

Obtained by light maceration of the grapes for a few hours in the tank. When the desired colour is reached, the must is drawn off and a white fermentation continues

MONTELUNGO:

MONTENETTO DI BRESCIA IGT MARZEMINO 100% Marzemino

This wine is named after one of our 'Cru' in the vineyard to the north of the winery. So called because this plot is the longest, which is why we call it "Mut lonc" or long mountain

Ruby red colour with vivid violet reflections. The bouquet is intense with notes of ripe red fruit such as strawberries and blackberries with delicate floral notes of roses and violets, which blend with a light spiciness. The palate is easy-drinking, harmonious, soft and velvety.

Fermentation is preceded by a light cold maceration to extract aromas. Then fermentation with maceration follows for 10-15 days.

MONTEALBÌ:

MONTENETTO DI BRESCIA IGT MERLOT 100% Merlot

This wine is named after one of our 'Cru' in the vineyard to the north of the winery. So called because this plot of land when purchased belonged to a certain Mr Albini, which is why we call it "Mut de Albì", i.e. Monte di Albini.

Intense and brilliant ruby red colour. The bouquet reveals notes of berries such as blackberries and raspberries and herbaceous hints. On the palate it appears expressive, persistent and with great depth.

Maceration and fermentation takes about 10-15 days

LA BELLA:

RED WINE 100% Bellagna

La Bella, a wine produced from an indigenous vine variety of Capriano del Colle, which was registered in the national register of vine varieties in 2014. Formerly called 'uva cagna', it was later renamed 'uva Bellagna', from which the name of our wine, La Bella, derives.

Characterised by a late harvest, roughly after the first half of October. The wine then rests for a minimum of 12 months in oak barrels, in order to express its full potential.

It represents the strong point of our company due to its potential, characterisation and typicality that distinguishes it and makes it a gem.

Almost impenetrable ruby red colour with garnet reflections. The nose reveals spicy and balsamic notes (such as eucalyptus), distinct hints of red fruits (such as ripe blackberry) and liquorice, while the palate is balanced and pleasant.

Maceration and fermentation takes about 10-15 days. after this it matures in oak barrels for at least 12 months
