About Winery and Wines

The winery was founded around 2003 by the owner and winemaker Salvatore Magnoni, starting from a single hectar of vineyard and three of olivegroves. Today we grew up to three hectars of vineyards and a fourth is on the go. All the cellar and vineyard works are done by Salvatore himself, with the help of his son Michele and two workers, Giuseppe and Giuseppe. No synthetic chemistry in the field, only copper and sulphur in the lowest possible amounts, respect for the Nature and its rythms, no industrial selected yeasts in the winemaking, very low amounts of sulphites added to the fermenting musts and no additives whatsoever, no invasive enological manipulations. All this in the beautiful frame of an 18th Century villa, in the center of the small town of Rutino, well renowned in the surrounding area for the top quality of its wines.

All made from autochtonous grapes, the main variety being Aglianico and Barbera del Sannio (very different from the Monferrato one) for the red ones, and Fiano, Falanghina and Malvasia di Candia for the white wines. We currently have six references: three red, two rosés (one flat and one sparkling) and one sparkling white, produced with the method of bottle second fermentation. All of them have a very low amount of added sulphites (especially the red ones, very rich in natural anti-oxydants such as tannins and therefore not needing important adjustement in this sense), none of them is microfiltered nor subjected to any enological modification: we seriously try to express our terroir and vintage variations through our wines, to tell our tale of this beautiful and harsh territory.
