Xabarra is a winery that oversees the entire production cycle, from grape cultivation to winemaking and direct sales. Every sip speaks of the passion and dedication for the land of Sant’Antioco. The production is 100% ungrafted Carignano, with vines averaging around 60 years old: true natural monuments, trained as bush vines on carefully selected sandy soils. These ancient vines preserve a unique traditional method, guaranteeing grapes of extraordinary quality. The winery extends over 3 hectares on a single plot in Sa Barra, an area historically renowned for Carignano. Hence the name of the wine: Xabarra, a tribute to our history. Just 500 meters from the village, within walking distance, Xabarra offers an enchanting view of the lagoon. Within the property is a small, historic 124-year-old vineyard—inherited from the family's great-grandparents—which preserves the authentic genetic heritage of Sant’Antioco. From this vineyard, shoots are harvested for vine propagation. Deep ruby red in color with brownish reflections, Xabarra reveals a complex bouquet with intense Mediterranean scrub aromas accompanied by notes of ripe fruit. On the palate, it is broad and elegant, with smooth tannins enriched by finely spiced and balsamic nuances, leading to a long and persistent finish.
