About Winery and Wines

Bodegas Osca, the oldest winery in Spain, carries the weight of centuries of history, with underground cellars dating back to 1480. Operated by the Borruel family, the winery honors a deep-rooted winemaking tradition, blending the noble aromas of aging with the fresh essence of fruit and spices. The focus is on indigenous grape varieties such as Macabeo, Moristel, and Parraleta, producing modern wines that respect the terroir and heritage of the region.

With a modest annual production of 1,500 hectoliters, Bodegas Osca embraces artisanal methods, using small stainless steel tanks and aging wines in French (60%) and American (40%) oak barrels. These wines are nurtured with the love and expertise passed down through generations, all within a setting that exudes the timeless essence of barrel, leather, and stone.

At Bodegas Osca, the winemaking process begins in the fields, where the subtle aromas of broom, wild fruits, and rosemary fill the air. Hand-harvesting ensures only the finest grape bunches are selected, which are then carefully transported to the winery in small 30 kg boxes to maintain freshness and preserve their essence.

The winery produces a wide range of wines, from young reds, rosés, and whites to Crianzas, Reservas, and the only Gran Reserva in Somontano. These wines are crafted from monovarietals and blends, featuring Moristel, Garnacha Blanca and Tinta, Merlot, Syrah, and Gewurztraminer. The future of Bodegas Osca’s wines looks promising, with a special focus on Garnacha, the flagship variety, which continues to be the subject of experimentation and innovation in upcoming vintages.
