About Winery and Wines
Tenuta La Meirana stands as a living testament to the rich history of Gavi. The estate's name first appeared in a rental contract dating back to 972 AD, preserved in the State Archives of Genoa, making it one of the oldest connections to the Gavi territory. A thousand years later, in 1972, Bruno Broglia acquired this historic estate, marking the beginning of a new era. In the early 1980s, the winery underwent a significant expansion and modernization, pioneering the use of stainless steel tanks to preserve the Gavi wine's natural freshness, minerality, and flavor—a revolutionary choice at a time when most producers relied on concrete tanks and wooden barriques.
Today, the third generation of the Broglia family—Roberto and Filippo—continues the tradition of excellence and innovation. Raised in Gavi and deeply connected to the land, they carry forward the legacy of their forefathers, ensuring that Tenuta La Meirana remains a symbol of high-quality winemaking in the region.
Broglia’s Gavi di Gavi wines are celebrated worldwide for their exceptional quality and refined style. Produced from the vineyards of the historic "La Meirana" estate, these wines embody the essence of the Gavi terroir. With over 70 hectares of vines planted exclusively with the Cortese grape, the estate is the largest in the Gavi appellation, offering wines that showcase the region’s unique minerality and elegance.
Each bottle of Broglia’s Gavi di Gavi reflects the family's dedication to preserving the freshness and crispness of the Cortese grape while maintaining a deep respect for tradition and sustainability. These wines have become a benchmark for other Gavi producers, renowned for their balance, sophisticated mineral notes, and enduring connection to the land.
