Il Poggio di Gavi is a family-run wine resort nestled in the enchanting hills of Piedmont, close to the Ligurian coast. Managed by me, my sister Alessandra, my daughter Giorgia, and my husband Angelo, our work is driven by passion and teamwork in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We strive to create a home-like environment for our guests, sharing the beauty and charm of our land. Our resort and vineyards focus on producing Gavi wines, celebrating the region’s rich winemaking heritage. With Gavi, it is easy to describe the identity of the area we live in and with my Gavi, it is even easier, because it speaks for me. It explains the soil, draws the vines, describes the ripe grapes, expresses all its hostility towards chemicals and tells stories of real wellbeing. And I just let it do its own thing and speak for itself…

Tenuta La Meirana stands as a living testament to the rich history of Gavi. The estate's name first appeared in a rental contract dating back to 972 AD, preserved in the State Archives of Genoa, making it one of the oldest connections to the Gavi territory. A thousand years later, in 1972, Bruno Broglia acquired this historic estate, marking the beginning of a new era. In the early 1980s, the winery underwent a significant expansion and modernization, pioneering the use of stainless steel tanks to preserve the Gavi wine's natural freshness, minerality, and flavor—a revolutionary choice at a time when most producers relied on concrete tanks and wooden barriques. Today, the third generation of the Broglia family—Roberto and Filippo—continues the tradition of excellence and innovation. Raised in Gavi and deeply connected to the land, they carry forward the legacy of their forefathers, ensuring that Tenuta La Meirana remains a symbol of high-quality winemaking in the region.

Tenuta La Giustiniana S.R.L. - Societa' Agricola
(Winery in Gavi)

The origins of this beautiful winery located in the territory of Rovereto di Gavi (AL), on the Piedmontese foothills of the Apennines are very old, GIUSTINIANA boasts a history that takes it back in time to the year one thousand when the Benedictines who had founded a grange (farm) started the cultivation of the vine. As early as 900 AD in the annals of the Republic of Genoa there is mention of a Benedictine settlement on the hills overlooking the river Lemme. The "Grangia Bassiniana" is mentioned in a document dated 1250 as an agricultural farm of the Abbey of Rivalta Scrivia which produced wheat, but above all wine. Of this settlement remain the watchtower and defense, the chapel and several rooms with vaults and capitals. At the beginning of 1600 the property passed to the Giustiniani family, a member of which, commander of the Genoese militia, victoriously defended the Fort of Gavi, at that time an important strategic commercial and military junction, from one of the many French sieges. It was the Giustiniani family who built the villa in neoclassical style that still dominates the access to the estate, which took the name of Giustiniana. The beauty of the place, from landscape to nature, the vocation of the land to produce wonderful wines, made the most important Genoese families: Doria, Spinola, Cambiaso, over the years disputed the ownership of Giustiniana over the centuries.

The La Scolca estate was purchased between 1917 and 1919 by the great-grandfather of Giorgio Soldati who, today, leads the company with his daughter Chiara. The past and the future live together at La Scolca: the naturalness of those who have always been is combined with the vim and vigor of forward-looking leaders. The surname Soldati “soldiers” is particularly symbolic of the approach taken by the company’s owners. The name of the property, as well, is symbolic. La Scolca comes from “Sfurca” or “Look off into the distance” and the farmhouse that stood there was exactly that – a lookout post. These names reflect the proud and tenacious character of the owners and their wines
