I stopped there following my wine tour of Sicily and let me tell you that it was a pleasant experience for me since i already had a few knowledges about wine but wanted to develop them, so this visit gave me the chance to increase my science for under than 10euros for an hour. We also tasted the wines in live.

About Winery and Wines

Cantina Cambria was born in a wine-growing area par excellence where, until the 1970s, the “Cardinale”, a highly prized red berried table grape, was produced. Inaugurated on June 14, 2009, it was awarded as the most technological winery in Sicily in terms of wine production among those of the highest quality standard. Among the numerous technologies present in the Cellar, we can highlight, right from the entry of the grapes, harvested entirely by hand, controlled through a selection table, a control system that manages the temperatures of the grapes, musts, wines and aging, as well as the cellar itself. Cambria adopts the most important technology, which allows to create wines of the highest organoleptic quality and to fully enhance their peculiarity. It is the "full-production" automatic controlled winemaking system, a real pride for the whole company as there are few Italian wineries that can boast this system. The cellar has a capacity of about 1,500 hectoliters between stainless steel containers, French oak barrels and barriques.

The Cambria estate is set in the hills of Furnarese, on the slopes of the Tindari Nebrodi mountains, 45 km west of Messina, right in the heart of the Mamertino. The property consists of 35 hectares of land, of which 20 are planted with vines and 4 hectares with olive groves for the production of small quantities of extra virgin olive oil. Walking through the Cambria estates of Mastronicola, Masseria, Cutrigniolo, Cinque Fontane, Marraffino and Frascini you will be enchanted by the suggestive views and the absolute peace of unspoiled nature. There are native varieties such as Nocera, Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese; but there are also small quantities of white grapes, Catarratto Lucido, Inzolia Grecanico, Grillo and other small quantities of non-traditional grapes such as Syrah and Chardonnay, planted for experimentation in the eighties. The grapes reach perfect ripeness, thanks to the winds coming from the sea, the happy position of the vineyards, protected by the surrounding mountain ranges, and the rich and sunny soil. The harvest takes place approximately between the last days of August and early October.
