About the Wines

At Nepos Villae, our wines are a true reflection of the Valpolicella terroir, crafted with care and respect for tradition.

Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 'Contrà del Tono': This wine is a tribute to the lost village of Contrà del Tono, produced from Corvina Nizza, Corvina Grande, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes grown in the Negrar Valley. The grapes are hand-harvested, dried for 20-30 days, and then gently pressed. The wine undergoes vinification with cryomaceration and is aged in stainless steel and wooden barrels before bottling. It has a ruby red color, with aromas of ripe cherries, berries, and notes of black pepper and cloves, offering elegant tannins and a fresh, persistent finish.

Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso DOC 'Strada Campiona': Named after the ancient Roman road connecting Villa Quintarelli Ruffo to family properties, this Ripasso wine is made from Corvina Nizza, Corvina Grande, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes. After vinification, it undergoes Ripasso on Amarone marc and matures in large French oak barrels for 36 months. The result is an intense ruby red wine with rich red fruit and cherry notes, rounded tannins, and a spicy, balsamic finish.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 'Campo di Villa': This Amarone comes from a unique cru vineyard in the Negrar Valley, made from hand-harvested Corvina Nizza, Corvina Grande, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes. After drying and vinification, the wine matures in French oak barrels for 60 months. It is characterized by a garnet red color, complex aromas, and a fresh palate with round tannins and notes of black pepper and almonds.

Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG 'La Tesa' 500 ml: This sweet wine, produced from the same grape varieties, is aged in oak barrels for 18-24 months. It has an intense purple-red color and aromas of cherry, berries, and raspberry. On the palate, it is sweet, silky, fresh, and elegant, making it a perfect conclusion to any meal.

Each of our wines captures the essence of Valpolicella, offering a taste of the rich history and tradition that define Nepos Villae.

An enchantment
A splendid experience!
The tour through the vineyards and in the historic cellar was extremely rich and interesting, and the visit to the villa was also surprising and fascinating. The tasting was magnificently organized, educational and absolutely delicious, the wines are excellent and the proposed pairings allow you to best appreciate all the high-quality raw material. Even the Recioto, slightly sweet, managed to win us over and make us take it home!
The passion and love that the Ruffo family puts in are evident and definitely appreciated. It was a real journey, immersed in a suggestive atmosphere, between history and traditions, and accompanied by truly competent people who are in love with what they do.

Villa, arms and heart
My family and I were welcomed and pampered by Lucia, who with infinite passion, empathy, and great enthusiasm took us on a wonderful journey to discover the villa, her wonderful family, and how their story began, which I hope will continue for a long time and will surely fascinate everyone who decides to go and meet them.
The tasting left us speechless.
We got to know and appreciate the winery's wines through an experience of aromas and flavors that won us over.
The Valpolicella Ripasso Strada Campiona and the Amarone Campo di Villa were at the top of our list of favorites, but the Recioto La Tesa was a very sweet discovery.
The deep-rooted and respected wines and traditions, as well as the family's history, ensure that the result is worth the trip, whatever the starting point.
