Cantina Terracruda
About the Winery
Cantina Terracruda is a family-run winery with recent origins, but its passion is rooted in ancient knowledge inherited from the rural traditions of our family.
In Fratte Rosa, a small hilltop village in the Pesaro and Urbino countryside, just a short distance from Urbino and located 420 meters above sea level, we cultivate only local grape varieties using low environmental impact methods. We carefully oversee the entire production process — from vine to bottle — with the aim of protecting the land and preserving ancient grape varieties.
Across our 20 hectares of vineyards, the grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand by a team of local workers under the guidance of the renowned oenologist Giancarlo Soverchia, a leading expert in the rediscovery, protection, and vinification of native grape varieties grown in purity.
Believing strongly in the great winemaking potential of this territory, Terracruda began vinifying its wines in 2005 in a technologically advanced winery. In just a few years, the estate achieved outstanding quality levels, recognized and awarded at some of the most prestigious international blind wine competitions.
Since 2017, our production has been undergoing a complete conversion to organic farming, reaffirming our commitment to sustainability and authenticity.
Luca, Maria Vittoria, Emma, and the entire Terracruda team look forward to welcoming you to the winery to let you discover the essence of our territory in every sip of our wines.

About the Wines
Today, Terracruda Winery produces wines exclusively from native grape varieties, vinified 100% in purity, following our philosophy of enhancing and preserving local grapes.
Our wines are made from Bianchello del Metauro DOC, Colli Pesaresi Sangiovese DOC, and Pergola Rosso Aleatico DOC grapes. We have also recovered ancient local varieties that had almost completely disappeared, such as Incrocio Bruni 54 IGT and Garofanata IGT.
A wine not to be missed is Metaurum – Bianchello del Metauro DOC, one of the most representative expressions of our territory.
Over the past 10 years, our wines have received important awards in both local and international wine competitions. Terracruda has earned bronze, silver, and gold medals in prestigious contests such as the Decanter World Wine Awards and the International Wine Challenge in London, the Concours International des Vins à Lyon, and the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
In 2016, during the 50th edition of Vinitaly, Terracruda was awarded the prestigious “Angelo Betti – Benemeriti della Vitivinicoltura” Prize by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
This important recognition is given to wineries whose professional and entrepreneurial commitment has significantly contributed to the qualitative progress of viticulture and winemaking in their region and across Italy.
