the place was as expected, wines were different, but good. the paired foods worked perfect.
lots of quantity in both wines anf food.
worth the trip in the winding roads (actually a lot of fun driving)

Très bel accueil, nous étions seulement tous les deux et rien n’a été négligé. La qualité des vins lors deux la dégustation ainsi que l’excellente nourriture offerte ont répondu à nos attentes et même les ont dépassés. Francesco Russo nous a partagé sa passion
le vin rouge Rapace 2017 offre une texture en bouche fort agréable. Corse tout en étant doux pour le palais. Nous n’avons pu résister à en acheter un 50€ la bouteille

About Winery and Wines

With a winemaking heritage that spans over two centuries, Cantine Russo is a family-owned winery located in Solicchiata, Castiglione di Sicilia, on the slopes of Mount Etna. Founded in 1860, the Russo family has passed down its passion for viticulture from father to son, maintaining a deep connection to the land. In 1955, Don Ciccio and his son Vincenzo bottled their first wine, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the family business. Today, Gina and Francesco Russo continue the family tradition, skillfully blending innovation with time-honored practices.

At Cantine Russo, our commitment to the environment is at the core of everything we do. We take pride in maintaining the biodiversity of our vineyards by using organic treatments, such as sweet orange essential oil, to protect the vines naturally. This sustainable approach ensures that we produce wines that reflect the unique terroir of Etna, while preserving the delicate balance of the ecosystem.

Cantine Russo’s wines are a true expression of the volcanic terroir of Mount Etna, crafted with care and respect for nature. Our Luce di Lava Etna Bianco DOC 2022 is a vibrant white wine with a straw-yellow color and delicate golden reflections. Its aromas are full and delicate, with hints of tropical fruit, while the palate is fresh, persistent, and full-bodied. Our sustainable farming practices, including the use of sweet orange essential oil, ensure that only harmful organisms are affected, while beneficial insects are preserved.

Our Luce di Lava Etna Rosso DOC 2019 is a brilliant ruby-red wine with lively aromas of wild berries and cherry. On the palate, it is fruity, full-bodied, and well-balanced, offering a delightful structure and freshness. Like all our wines, the Etna Rosso reflects our dedication to the land and our use of organic methods to protect and enhance the health of the vines.
