Casale Terzo
About the Winery
A historic rural building is a witness to an important past and a destiny that united two organic wine families. A corner of paradise in Val d'Elsa, framed by places like the towers of San Gimignano, the fortress of Casole d'Elsa, in an area that embodies the most typical form of the Tuscan landscape. You are at the center of a beauty universally recognized and famous for its renowned winemaking tradition, where the colors of the sunset become those of the heart.
The medieval base of the Casale was built on the Sienese hills around 1250. In 1874, with the new façade, the Casale acquired the charm of the ancient Tuscan rural building.
In 1974, Giovanni Borella arrived at Casale from Geneva and became the winery's owner, planting the first vineyards organically. Organic viticulture and the care of Casale became his reason for living: he immediately began producing Chianti Colli Senesi and extra virgin olive oil, precious fruits from the property's vineyards and olive trees.
In 2021, Settimo Pizzolato became the new owner of Casale. With humility and delicacy, the Pizzolato family entered the world of Casale, united along with Giovanni Borella by their passion for producing a good, organic wine. The organic is understood as a lifestyle, a constant attention to the environment, a choice born from a personal journey in which respect is the foundation of society.
Progress in the organic production of Tuscan red wine and extra virgin olive oil, dedicating oneself to welcoming guests and caring for the area: this is the future commitment and new challenge of the Pizzolato family. And then, continue to dream and make dreams, in this place that gives lightness of soul and at the same time a sense of fullness and gratitude.
