Castello di Grillano is a historic winery and guest-house situated in the picturesque hills of Ovada, Piedmont. Owned and operated by the Torello Rovereto family since 1935, our estate is dedicated to organic wine production, a tradition that has been passed down through generations. The winery's origins trace back to the 1930s when Giovanni Torello acquired the castle, its surrounding vineyards, historic cellars, farmhouses, and parkland. Today, Castello di Grillano is not only a place where exceptional wines are crafted but also a serene destination for visitors seeking to experience the beauty and heritage of the region.

Located just a short drive from the Ligurian Sea, Milan, and the Serravalle Outlet, our winery offers a perfect blend of historical charm and modern amenities, including a pool and guest-house. Since 2012, our wines have been certified organic by ICEA, adhering to the strict standards of European Regulation 203/2012. Our commitment to organic farming means we exclude the use of pesticides, synthetic products, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers. We also take pride in producing a line of wines with no added sulfites, developed through innovative winemaking protocols by Francesco Torello. These naturally crafted wines preserve authentic aromas and offer a smooth, pleasant taste, embodying the purity and tradition of our land.

"OVADA" Dolcetto di Ovada Superiore D.O.C.G.: This organic red wine, made without added sulfites, is a rich and robust expression of the Dolcetto grape, showcasing deep flavors and a smooth finish that reflects the unique characteristics of the Ovada region.

Barbera del Monferrato D.O.C.: Our Barbera is a vibrant and full-bodied red, produced organically and without added sulfites. It offers intense fruit notes and a well-balanced acidity, making it a quintessential Monferrato wine.

Monferrato D.O.C. Rosso: An organic red blend without added sulfites, this wine is a harmonious fusion of local grape varieties, delivering a rich and complex flavor profile with a touch of rustic elegance.

Monferrato D.O.C. Bianco: This organic white wine, also produced without added sulfites, is crisp and refreshing, with delicate floral notes and a clean, mineral finish that makes it an ideal companion for light dishes.

"FEFÌ" Vino Rosato Frizzante “Col Fondo”: A naturally sparkling rosé made in the traditional "Col Fondo" style, this wine is lively and effervescent, offering a delightful blend of fruit and freshness.

"GHERLAN" Ovada D.O.C.G. Riserva: A prestigious organic red, this Riserva is aged to perfection, delivering deep, concentrated flavors with a refined structure, perfect for special occasions.

"TOURGNA’" Barbera del Monferrato Superiore D.O.C.G.: This organic Barbera Superiore is a bold and elegant red, with a rich palate of dark fruits and spices, showcasing the depth and complexity of Monferrato’s finest vineyards.

"LUBBI" Macerated Unfiltered White Wine, this wine is a luxurious expression of the varietal, with a creamy texture and nuanced notes of vanilla and oak, balanced by a fresh acidity.
