Recently, I had the pleasure of indulging in a journey through Chianti Classico wines at this historic castle, and I must say, it was nothing short of extraordinary.
From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the timeless charm of Castello di Selvole. The castle's rustic elegance, surrounded by rolling vineyards and olive groves, set the stage for an unforgettable exploration of Tuscan wine culture.

We had an informal, informative, and enjoyable tour of the vineyard and cellar with Alberto. A small family operation in the heart of the Chianti region rich in history and tradition. Off the beaten path and a bit hard to find which made it even more fun! The wines are wonderful and the 28 year old dessert wine is the best I’ve ever tasted. Cheers!

Castello di Selvole tour

My girlfriend and I were going to Florence and decided to book a wine tour. Since we wanted to visit a smaller and more authentic reality, we picked Castello di Selvole, a family business winemaking. We couldn’t have chosen any better!! Alberto and Arielle took us for the tour. They showed us the vineyard and thoroughly explained the entire process, from grape harvesting to fermentation and bottling, as well as the difference between chianti and chianti classico. The tour ended with a wine tasting matched with cheese and cured meat. Their English was impeccable therefore the tour is suitable for tourists too. Highly recommended!!

It has been an amazing experience.. we learned many details about the wine producing process and had the opportunity to taste great chianti wines with some finger food! Alberto has been a great host and answered all our questions! Totally recommend it!

Amazing family run winery experience

Wow! What a cool place, everyone knows about Castello Brolio but this winery is the setting of their enemy! Many battles took place between the two, a unique piece of history. We were able to try wine straight from the tanks and explore every inch of the winery from vines to tasting room. The prosciutto covered melon was a perfect pairing. Our host was kind and knowledgeable. You will not be disappointed! Well worth the price!

Enrico è stato molto disponibile e attento durante l'esperienza a rispondere a tutte le nostre domande e curiosità.
La visita alle cantine e alla vigna è stata interessante e istruttiva.
Per non parlare dell'esperienza della degustazione con tagliere di salumi, formaggi e pane toscano! Un'esperienza assolutamente consigliata e da ripetere nel caso si passasse da Siena.

Ottima accoglienza. Alberto ci ha fatto sentire a casa. Una degustazione dettagliata della loro produzione di vini accompagnati da uno splendido tagliere. Ci torneremo sicuramente nella bella stagione. Vista mozzafiato!

Bellissima esperienza, vista mozzafiato al tramonto tra le vigne. Complimenti ad Alberto che oltre ad essere molto preparato riesce a trasmettere la grande passione che ha per questo lavoro. Cantina molto carina a conduzione familiare. Ottima la degustazione con un buon assortimento di affettati e formaggi.

Il mio compagno ed io siamo stati piacevolmente accolti da Alberto che ci ha mostrato la tenuta immersa tra le stupende colline del Chianti. La visita è stata molto interessante e ha arricchito sicuramente le nostre (scarse) conoscenze in materia di vino. La degustazione è stata la chicca finale. Il servizio di prenotazione è stato veloce e efficace.
Unica pecca non è stato così semplice raggiungere il luogo, qualche indicazione più visibile ci avrebbe agevolato.

La nostra visita al Castello di Selvole é stata unica: Alberto ci ha accompagnato a vedere il territorio, la sala di vinificazione per poi terminare con una gradevolissima degustazione.
Sentire dalla sua voce appassionata tutto quello che vive dietro e dentro ogni singola bottiglia é un'esperienza che consiglio a tutti, anche a chi come noi non ha grande conoscenza di vino.

Ieri abbiamo avuto il piacere di fare l’esperienza che avevamo prenotato tramite winedering al Castello di Selvole.
Per noi che era la prima volta, è stata davvero una sorpresa.
Siamo stati accolti da Enrico, il cantiniere del posto, e con lui abbiamo fatto un tuor molto interessante. Dove ci ha spiegato, in modo preciso e dettagliato, tutti i passaggi dalla raccolta alla produzione del loro buonissimo vino. Enrico è stato gentile e disponibile, ci ha subito messi a nostro agio ed è stata davvero un’ottima guida. Infine la degustazione con assaggi, ci ha lasciato davvero soddisfatti.
Se ne siete incuriositi, non esitate perché merita davvero tanto questa esperienza. Per noi sarà una bellissimo ricordo.

We had a really really great time in that winery, Castello di Selvole. Our guide, the winemaker, was very generous of his time. He showed us the vineyard, the winery with it’s tanks and barrels and answered to all our questions about the property, his work, the Chianti area and the wine. We tasted very good wines with antipasti.

Siamo stati accolti dal genero del proprietario. Dopo averci dato qualche accenno di storia del territorio (molto interessante e che ha suscitato anche la voglia di approfondire anche questo lato di questa fantastica terra), siamo stati accompagnati nella visita della cantina dell’azienda. Non solo la spiegazione è stato di per sè molto accurata ma le nostre numerose domande sono state ampiamente soddisfatte, con la pazienza e l’entusiasmo di chi ha la passione per ciò che fa. Ci è stato proposto un assaggio dei vini prodotti dall’azienda, molto buoni, accompagnati da un tagliere sfizioso. Abbiamo avuto l’impressione di essere ospitati nella vera Toscana, senza troppe “costruzioni” turistiche. Una bellissima esperienza. Super consigliato!

Our Chianti Classico comes in three different refinements: Annata, Riserva, and Gran Selezione.
