About Winery and Wines

Chiusa Grande farm, founded in 1994 by Franco D’Eusanio, is deeply committed to organic farming and sustainable winemaking. With his extensive experience as an Agricultural Sciences graduate and winery consultant, D’Eusanio approaches winemaking through a blend of tradition and environmental ethics. He describes himself as a "vino-sopher" and "bio-innovator," embracing a philosophy that prioritizes the health of the ecosystem. Rejecting chemical interventions, he advocates for a method of farming that respects nature and produces wines that prioritize the well-being of both the environment and consumers.

D’Eusanio's passion for organic practices is rooted in the belief that winemaking should go beyond profit, focusing instead on maintaining the balance of natural ecosystems. His approach highlights the importance of making wine that fosters both mental and physical well-being for those who drink it. He is committed to proving that high-quality wines can be crafted without sacrificing the integrity of the land.

Chiusa Grande's wine collection reflects the estate's commitment to organic and sustainable practices. The portfolio includes a variety of red, white, and rosé wines, crafted from indigenous and international grape varieties such as Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Trebbiano, Pecorino, and Pinot Grigio. Each wine showcases the unique terroir of the Abruzzo region and is made with minimal intervention to preserve natural flavors and aromas.

Chiusa Grande's "vinosophia" led the estate to a new way of tasting the wine. A total experience in which all senses are stimulated. This led to the "Diwine Vinosophy Jazz Collection", a music CD in which 9 wines have been interpreted by 6 musicians coordinated by the renowned jazz musician Tony Pancella. Individual songs are preceded by the recitation of the back label by narrator Gio' Rapattoni. This is the best way to appreciate the wines of Chiusa Grande with literally all senses. As well as being tasted they have back labels with poetics to read carefully and to every one of them we have an associated melody that evokes and amplifies the taste.
