Tenuta Villa della Rosa is a winery, founded in Villamagna, a small medieval village, located 10 km from the white beaches of the Adriatic Sea and 10 km from the snow-capped peaks of the Majella mountain massif. Our philosophy comes from tradition, which has handed down to us the cultivation of roses in the vineyards, as a practice used since ancient times. The rose, an extremely sensitive plant, positioned at the beginning of the rows, monitors the health of the vine and helps the winemaker monitor and protect the vineyard, detecting any pathologies and encouraging rapid intervention. The uniqueness of our production lies in the craftsmanship of each step. In fact, each bottle is numbered and prepared individually by hand until the dried rose is positioned.Tenuta Villa della Rosa is a winery, founded in Villamagna, a small medieval village, located 10 km from the white beaches of the Adriatic Sea and 10 km from the snow-capped peaks of the Majella mountain massif. Contesa is more than just a winery; it is a living testament to the unbreakable bond between a family and its grapevines, a connection that has yielded an extraordinarily generous land. This story is one of deep commitment, marked by difficult choices and challenging divisions, but also by immense gratification. Over generations, men and women have fiercely guarded the philosophy of wine culture, rooted in integrity, coherence, and pride in their origins. At Contesa, the belief that "wine is made in the vineyard" is central. The journey from grape harvest to bottling in the cellar is treated as a sacred ritual, requiring patience, as it is through time that Nature grants true masterpieces. This natural gift is then shaped by a winemaker's refined and time-honored practices, passed down through generations. The wine cellars at Contesa house exceptional barriques and barrels made from the finest Slovenian oak, alongside innovative steel tanks that carefully regulate temperature, preserving the quality of the must and minimizing technological impact. Yet, equally important is the human element in the process, characterized by genuine conviviality and spontaneous hospitality. AZIENDA AGRICOLA BARONE CORNACCHIA
(Winery in Montepulciano d'Abruzzo)

Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €30.00
The commercial farm ‘Azienda Agricola Barone Cornacchia’ is among the oldest wineries in the province of Teramo. The land tenure was established at the end of the 16th century by the feudal concession of the viceroy of Naples and with the appointment of a barony title. At that time the Baroni Cornacchia family dwelt in the Fortress of Civitella and controlled the fiefs situated on the north-eastern border of the Bourbon kingdom. At the end of the 19th century, with the Unification of Italy and after a long period of battles, the Cornacchia family had to leave the Fortress of Civitella and retreated to the hunting reserve where the present company is located. This area has always had a vocation for viticulture and grapevine has always been cultivated. Barone Filippo Maria Vizzarro Cornacchia (1872-1944) restored and handed down this old viticultural tradition. After the devastating infestation of phylloxera that spread all over Italy at the beginning of the 20th century, Barone Filippo Vizzarro Cornacchia selected the ancient clones to replant and graft all vineyards using American rootstocks. At the beginning of the 20th century, he started to produce ‘Montepulciano d’Abruzzo’ wine and used it to participate in national competitions, receiving the first official awards [ 1932 – 1933 ]. Today the company is led by Filippo and Caterina Cornacchia who have been able to achieve the organic certification of the company and of the products and to introduce new wines such as the ‘Controguerra DOC Passerina Villa Torri’, the ‘Pecorino Villa Torri IGT Colli Aprutini’ as well as the ‘Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG Vizzarro’ (devoted to the founder of the company: Barone Filippo Maria Vizzarro Cornacchia). This wine was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Oenological Competition ‘Vinitaly’, in 2007.
