Colutta

Winery in Colli Orientali, Friuli Grave

About the Winery

Colutta Winery is nestled in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, a unique area in Friuli-Venezia Giulia that dates back to the Eocene era. This region, known for its distinct microclimate and ideal exposure, stands apart from the rest of the territory, making it a premier DOC area for producing world-renowned wines. The Colutta Farm, named "Bandut" after an ancient piece of land purchased by Antonio Colutta in the early 1900s, is now managed by Giorgio Colutta. Our vineyards, located in Buttrio, Manzano, and Rosazzo, are part of the prestigious "Parco della vite e del vino" (Vine and Wine Park) in the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Spanning 18 hectares, the estate has undergone significant reorganization and renovation, increasing vine density to 5,000-6,000 stumps per hectare to enhance the quality of our grapes. Recognized by major wine guides and publications like "Wine Spectator" and "Decanter," Colutta Winery is committed to excellence. We are also in the process of obtaining ISO 9001 Certification to ensure the highest standards of quality and service, from our vineyards to your glass.

About the Wines

At Colutta Winery, we believe that great wine begins in the vineyard. Our approach to viticulture prioritizes environmental sustainability and the health of our consumers, adhering to the strict guidelines set by the European Union. The harvest is a time of great importance and celebration for us, as it marks the culmination of a year's worth of hard work. This delicate phase is conducted entirely by hand, with our harvesters carefully selecting the best grapes for the cellar. The unpredictability of the seasons—where a single hailstorm or heavy rain can undo months of labor—adds a sense of anticipation and urgency to this process.

Our wines, crafted from meticulously tended vines, reflect the dedication and passion we pour into every bottle. Sparkling wines as Prosecco and Ribolla Gialla, elegant whites as Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon or Malvasia, the robust reds as Schioppettino, Refosco and Pignolo: each wine from Colutta captures the essence of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The combination of our region's unique terroir, our commitment to sustainable practices, and our meticulous attention to detail ensures that every sip offers a true taste of this exceptional land.

Absolute aanrader!

Amazing morning!
This is not just the best wine tasting I have ever attended but one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. Giorgio was an excellent host and taught us so much about the manufacture of wine and gave us some amazing produce to sample. All the staff were very friendly and I look forward to visiting again.

Great Afternoon
We were warmly welcomed and it began with a tour of the wine production.
All questions were answered and explained in detail.
The food served with the wines in the Gold Package is more than enough and very delicious.
All in all, definitely to be recommended.

Pleasant experience
It was a pleasant experience guided by the oenologist Samuele, a helpful and very knowledgeable young man.
The visit began with a tour of the winery and learning about the various wine production processes and concluded with a tasting of the company's excellent wines, cured meats and cheeses and a pleasant chat with Samuele.

Quality and professionalism
It was a pleasant and rewarding experience.
Besides having tasted and purchased high-quality wines, the technical explanations accompanied us, broadening the scope of the visit with elements not known to the customer who simply buys in a winery or wine shop.

A well-rounded experience
An enriching experience on both a sensory and cultural level at the Colutta agriturismo.
A socially engaged company, which aims to safeguard the environment by adopting innovative methods and is very attentive to the smallest details.
Thanks to Dr. Colutta, who led the tour of the winery, we learned a lot and discovered little secrets, a sagacious and passionate person about the world of wine, ready to answer any of your doubts or questions.
Warmly recommended.
