About Winery and Wines
Davide Vignato's winery, located in the volcanic hills of Gambellara, has deep roots in a century-old passion for winemaking. It all began with Davide’s grandfather, Rinaldo, a pioneer who cultivated the first small plot of land in Brovia. His father, Gian Domenico, took the family’s dedication further by starting to vinify their own grapes, producing wines that reflected the authenticity and tradition of the past. Davide, the third generation, grew up immersed in the rhythms of the vineyard, and in 1997, he decided to embark on a new path, embracing organic viticulture. With a deep respect for the land, Davide focused on reducing yields and encouraging the vines to take root in the nutrient-rich volcanic soil. His vision has transformed the family estate into a modern winery that remains connected to its heritage. Today, the winery, housed in a renovated cowshed from his grandfather’s time, stands as a testament to the family’s enduring love for the land and the traditions of Gambellara.
Davide Vignato produces wines that capture the unique essence of the volcanic terroir in Gambellara. The organic viticulture practiced here allows the vines to absorb the minerals from the rich volcanic soil, resulting in wines with depth and character. Among the estate’s specialties is Recioto, a sweet wine made by drying grapes in the attic where the family’s barn once stood. The winery’s other offerings, primarily based on local grape varieties like Garganega, showcase fresh, mineral-driven flavors that reflect the authenticity and natural beauty of the region. Davide’s commitment to organic practices, minimal intervention, and a focus on quality over quantity ensures that each bottle embodies the true spirit of Gambellara.
