Del Risti is a small family winery in Colico, on the northern shore of Lake Como, where the lake meets the entrance to Valtellina. In the early 1900s great-grandfather Aristide, known as Risti, kept animals and grew vines for the family on the Montecchio Sud promontory. After his death the land was left untouched for decades, until 2020, when Andrea, a sommelier who runs a historic wine shop in Colico, decided to bring his great-grandfather's vineyard back to life as a tribute to his family and to the territory.

The family cleared the land, analysed the soil and planted Pinot Noir on the old dry-stone terraces, which are still standing. The vineyard is farmed by hand and with natural methods: weeds and leaves are removed by hand, the vines are fed with manure, and the estate keeps its own beehives.

Today Del Risti welcomes visitors to share what makes this place special: a walk among the vines with views over the lake and the mountains, the story of great-grandfather Risti and a tasting guided by a sommelier under a pergola, where local wines meet cured meats and cheeses from the area. A relaxed, informal experience for wine lovers and curious travellers alike, to discover Lake Como through its flavours and the people who live there.

Del Risti produces a single wine, Breva, a Pinot Noir made from the grapes of its terraced vineyard on Montecchio Sud, in Colico. It is named after the Breva, the wind of the upper Lake Como that sweeps across the vineyard and that the family credits for the character of their wine.

Breva has a light, delicate colour, a complex bouquet and a lively acidity that gives freshness to every sip. Best served at around 18°C, it is the result of the recovery of the family vineyard and of careful, natural farming.

Alongside the wine, the estate makes a Millefiori Honey Grappa, combining spirit distilled from its own grape pomace with honey from its own beehives: smooth, sweet and golden, with a lower alcohol content than a traditional grappa, to be enjoyed chilled after a meal.
