Sorelle Pepe
About the Winery
Located in the heart of the Alta Murgia National Park, Masseria San Cataldo is a family-run winery, led by four sisters with a deep passion for wine and sustainable agriculture. The estate has been part of the family for over 200 years, evolving from a larger family farm. Nestled in the hills of Poggiorsini, Puglia, this vineyard is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes of rolling hills and rivers, offering travelers an immersive experience into the traditions of southern Italy. The vineyard was planted in 2006 with Aglianico grapes, cultivated with the utmost respect for the environment. The family’s commitment to quality, tradition, and nature is reflected in their meticulous farming practices, allowing them to produce unique wines that embody the flavors of the local terroir.
About the Wines
Masseria San Cataldo produces two wines, both crafted with the local Aglianico grape variety. The Rosé di San Cataldo is an elegant and aromatic rosé with a vibrant cherry hue, evoking the scents of the surrounding Murgia hills. This rosé is perfect for pairing with seafood, delicate meats, and Mediterranean dishes. Their red wine, 4uattrosorelle, is a bold and intense expression of the terroir, with rich aromas of the Murgia’s summer herbs and earthy notes. Both wines are produced in small quantities, emphasizing quality over volume, and reflect the family’s dedication to sustainable practices and tradition.

It begins with a visit to the vineyard, where it is possible to observe the grape clusters and learn a lot about the vineyard.
Then you move on to the tasting, a moment that they manage to make intimate for the group with great simplicity.
Absolutely an experience to be repeated!
Choose to visit the masseria in the spring in order to fully live the experience in the vineyard
