About Winery and Wines

On the hills just outside of Florence, among vineyards and olive trees that shaped the magical landscape of Chianti, stands the Fattoria Bellavista which has belonged to our family since 1960.

•The villa which dates back to the fourteenth century belonged to important Florentine families and boasts an interesting and curious history.

•The famous Macchiaiolo painter Giovanni Fattori lived here for a long time, whose presence is documented by a collection of drawings and an oil painting that portrays a portion of the villa on the street front.

•The estate consists of 40 hectares of land at 160 m a.s.l. cultivated with vineyards and olive groves.

•Ours is a story of passion, dedication and family tradition, a combination that has given rise to a fertile reality, in which the historic production of extra virgin olive oil is now accompanied by the production of fine Tuscan wines

The small size of our company allows us to manually follow each step of the production processes. So we can get the optimum from all our products that reflect the tradition and flavors of these magnificent places. This in respect of the roots, but with the courage to take new paths.

•We love our land and believe in organic farming. So in 2021 we opted for the conversion to BIO by removing synthetic chemicals (fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, pesticides in general) and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). In June 2024 we will be able to certify our products as Organic.

•We think that agriculture can offer tools for inclusion at work for the most fragile, disadvantaged or at risk of marginalization.

•Our goal is to combine a healthy cultivation of the land through the integration of people living in situations of hardship, disability, marginalization or disadvantage. This is why we started a collaboration with Social Cooperative of Scandicci.

A pleasant, persistent aroma with hints of red fruit such as currants and black cherries and spices such as vanilla and pepper. VINSANTO DEL CHIANTI DOC

It is a raisin wine of a yellow color tending towards amber and a characteristic aroma of caratello with hints of dried grapes. On the palate it tends to be sweet with an almond aftertaste. It is vinified in January from dried grapes and aged in chestnut barrels for at least 3 years. Our tradition wants it as a dessert wine, characteristic with Tuscan cantucci and almond-based desserts, but it is amazing with Roquefort-type blue cheese.

CASIGNANO White Toscano IGT

It is a straw-yellow colored wine, with fruity and floral aromas in particular white flowers such as Acacia and Hawthorn. The taste is fresh, lively and fruity with a bitter almond aftertaste.

VILLA di SOTTO Rosè Toscano IGT

It is a wine of character with an intense pink colour, with hints of currant, raspberry and rose. The taste is balanced and persistent with pleasant floral notes. The beautiful intense pink color is due to the use of the Colorino grape which, together with Sangiovese, expresses very intense flavors. The pressing of fresh grapes together with the stems gives our rosé structure and character.
