About Winery and Wines

Already his ancestors, back in '800, were responsible for this activity. In 1996 Francesco Fenech decided to bottle his product until then sold by him and by his father Antonio in the cellar directly from the barrels. Since then the company has adopted modern methods of cultivation of land planted with vines and modern machinery for winemaking, storage and bottling of the product. At the same time the company has acquired new land through their purchase and through rental contracts and now has reached the area planted to Malvasia of 7.0 ha, all enrolled in the Doc. The company is certified organic (certification body: CODEX ) and UNI-EN ISO 9000, 9001, 10939 (traceability) and 14000 (certification body: Italian Wine Union). There have been efforts but not long in coming either successes.

With Malvasia delle Lipari Passito d.o.c. won with the vintages 2002, 2003 and 2007, the competition Douja D'Or, with vintage 2002 Tour Tasting of Torgiano and always with the 2002 vintage silver medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, vintage 2003 was awarded in Milan during the Expo dei Sapori in November 2005 among the top 100 wines of Italy. The year of 2006 has been awarded the best dessert wines of Italy in December 2008 from the center of Montefalco Passito Wines and the Academy of Noble Molds. � Silver medal with the 2006 vintage in the competition World of Malvasia held in the island of Madeira. The 2008 vintage Malvasia delle Lipari has achieved this year the Oscar Douja d'Or in Asti getting the 31° place on 1200 wines presented. The brandy Malvasia delle Lipari, distilled handcrafted at the distillery Peroni Gussago (BS), got this year the Golden Alembic. Today his winery in Malfa in the heart of the island of Salina is a point of reference for all those who want to drink a good glass of Malvasia.
